Thanks everyone that could make it to the annual HOA meeting! It was great having the opportunity to meet and chat with everyone - we appreciate all the feedback, questions and ideas! With 2023 coming to an end it’s a good opportunity to pause and reflect on what our focus has been this year and share our plans for next year. We look forward to getting together soon for our annual meeting Tuesday, January 16th and are excited for the upcoming year!
Initiative 1: Management Contract
At the end of 2022 we downgraded our contract with Community Management Pro Services from a full management contract to accounting only. The thought at the time was that the new board would pick up the initiative and find a new management company more local to our community that would allow us to more easily leverage businesses in our areas for things like landscaping, street maintenance and retention pond maintenance. While that sounds good the reality is these contracts are expensive and for a small community such as ours might not be the right fit. This year we started to build out the infrastructure to limit our need for these external management companies.
Initiative 2: Our new website and new email address!
Part of the move away from an externally managed HOA we wanted to make some changes that we hope will encourage some better communication and transparency. Our website (we hope) will give the ability to give some updates throughout the year as needed as well as provide a space to download meeting minutes, CC&R's, by laws or the ACC form. If you need to get in contact with the HOA board it’s as easy as emailing us at contact@whisperwoodsestates.com.
Initiative 3: Maintenance/Repairs
There are multiple areas of maintenance that need some attention including finding a landscaper and miscellaneous maintenance on the retention pond. We have some cracks that have formed in our HOA managed road (61st PL SE) that we need to get sealed. All these items will take time as we contact various companies. This initiative will continue into next year.
Wrap up/Final Thoughts
With the builder completing the last house earlier this year we are excited that we have the opportunity to come together and straighten our community. The above is not the only focus for the board but rather a first pass on some important items. If you have questions, concerns, comments or new ideas that you'd like the board to hear feel free to reach out to our new email or pull one of us aside when you see us out and about. We hope to see everyone at the annual meeting where we can give more updates and details next year on January 16th!
